PAC stands for Parent Advisory Council. Every parent or guardian of a child enrolled at Forest Grove Elementary School is a member of the school's PAC. At Forest Grove, the PAC is a collective parent voice within the school community that aims to support the academic, physical, social and emotional development of our children during their time at Forest Grove.
We do this in a number of ways including: - Hosting events to build community (e.g. monster mash, pancake breakfast); - Organizing events to promote health and safety (e.g. school-wide lice checks, mental health and wellbeing seminars); - Fundraising to support the school and its teachers (e.g. field-trips, learning resources); - Fundraising to support extracurricular activities (e.g. clubs, performances, sports); and, - Offering opportunities for our children beyond elementary school (e.g. scholarship to Burnaby Mountain grad).
Each year, the PAC elects an executive team of parents to represent the interests of its members. Parent volunteer contribute how, when and where they are able. As a result, we have an inclusive, engaging community to support our children's elementary education and development.
