Our Readathon fundraiser promotes literacy while raising much-needed funds for the school. Research has shown that regular reading builds self-esteem, promotes empathy, reduces stress and anxiety, fights depression symptoms and improves brain connectivity. During Readathon the school emphasizes the importance of literacy at school and at home, as reading at home is a requisite for developing a love of reading.
We ask supporters to help cheer on our readers by sponsoring them to read or be read to at home. 100% of the money raised goes back to the school. All proceeds raised by Grade 7 students go towards Grad. We accept donations from anyone or any company that wishes to extend their support. Tax receipts are issued on donations of $20 or more.
Thank you for supporting the students and families of Forest Grove Elementary.
Note: extra reading logs and pledge forms can be downloaded from the Forms page.
